Dear Editor
Regarding End of an Era, in the early 1950s I, too, lived on the North Battleford to Paradise Hill CNR line. Every Friday morning it brought our piano teacher from St. Walburg to Vawn where he spent the day giving half hour lessons in the living room of the Red and White Store's proprietor, then returned home that night.
Today I live on the scenic route of the Rocky Mountaineer that makes its way from Jasper to Prince Rupert twice a week. You have a three-day stay in Prince Rupert before it returns to Jasper, or you can leave sooner on Greyhound.
The days of service to the locals is long gone.
