Dear Editor
I have been filled with anger, disgust, and sadness since I learned of James Larose getting sentenced for killing his six month-old-son (Larose sentenced for manslaughter, Regional Optimist, April 29).
His actions were deliberate and despicable and yet the judge feels a 5.5-year sentence is appropriate. This is murder. Manslaughter at a minimum. How is 5.5 years appropriate?
At this point, I don't know where to focus my anger and frustration, to Larose for being a coward, a monster and a despicable "father" or to the judge who sentenced him.
The judicial system is in shambles. That much is obvious.
