Waseca is in dire need of upgrades and maintenance for our recreational facilities. Friends of Waseca was started as a fundraising group to raise money and awareness of this. Our main concern at the moment is our rink, which is in need of quite a few repairs.
To raise money we have decided to get sponsors for the rink boards as they have not been updated since the rink opened. If an individual, family or business is interested, a full board is $250 or a half sheet is $150. All donations would be greatly appreciated and selling the boards will not be the only fundraiser organized.
Please make cheques or money orders payable to the Waseca Rink Board. If you are interested in helping with repairs or painting call Jennifer at 893-4577 or Bev at 893-4223.
There will also be a public meeting at the Waseca Recreation Centre Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. regarding volunteers for the Waseca Rink.
