Within hours of the realization that the earthquake in Japan had played havoc with a nuclear power plant in that country, a CBC Radio reporter spoke to a nuclear scientist in Vienna.
He was both defensive and dismissive, in my opinion. According to him, everything would be fine. It wasn't long before he was proved to be wrong.
Recently a petition bearing 4,800 signatures was presented in the legislature in Regina. The petition was against anything nuclear in Saskatchewan.
If the government listens to "experts" like the one noted above, however, we are in trouble.
