Dear editor,
I was on my first trip to Battleford on March 16, to attend a midget AA playoff hockey game, and was appalled to hear the Battleford fellow in charge of the music playing Happy Trails loudly on the speakers while a 16-year-old boy was down on the ice with, what could have been a serious head injury, after a bad hit to the head. The boy was down for about 10 minutes, with talk of an ambulance, and the whole time the music played on.
I found the music to be very inappropriate and showed a lack of respect for the boy, his team, and the game. If the adults cannot even show some class at the rink how do we expect the kids to? Obviously the fellow on the music was too thick to get it, but the referee in charge should have stopped it
Come on Battleford, show some class will you?
