Well… 2022 has rolled right on in and there are many wondering what this year holds for us.
The last couple of years have been a tremendous challenge for a lot of people and it has tested the “hope capacity” of many. But no matter the situation or the challenges ahead, the word of the Lord is sure and certain concerning the outcome for those who seek Him.
In Jeremiah chapter 29: 11-14, The Lord says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity and restore your fortunes.…”
At the time the prophet Jeremiah spoke these words, the people of Israel had been taken captive by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar and by its oppressive system. In a new land under a foreign king, the Israelites were devastated and many thought that all hope was lost. But the Lord through the prophet Jeremiah gave them an encouraging message. That was what we read in Jeremiah 29:11-14.
The plans that the Lord has for us are plans for good and not of evil. They are plans for peace and plans to give us a purpose – a future and a hope no matter the situation or circumstances we might find ourselves. So that means that the year 2022 is a year of purpose and a year to see God’s goodness. But in order for God’s plans to manifest in our lives we must seek Him wholeheartedly.
In the scriptural text we see the Lord speaking through Jeremiah and telling His chosen people that if they pray, He will listen. If His people seek Him, they will find him. In the same way if we pray and seek Him, He will listen and we will find Him. Committing our hearts to the Lord is paramount in having his good plans unfold in our lives. God is ever ready and willing to showcase His goodness and peace in our lives through ideas, strategies, opportunities and connections with others.
To secure your place in God’s perfect plan for manifesting His goodness, it involves inviting His Son Jesus Christ into your heart by believing that through Him you will receive eternal life.
If you have never said the salvation prayer I invite you to partake of his wonderful goodness by saying this prayer with me: “Heavenly Father, I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that you raised Him from the dead. I repent of my sin. Forgive me, wash and cleanse me with the precious blood of Jesus. I thank you that through your Son I get to have your plan of goodness unfold in my life. Thank you for saving me from a life of despair and hopelessness and putting me into a life full of your goodness in Jesus name. Amen.”
