Battlefords United Way is putting out the call for board members.
Pitching the experience as a way to make a difference in the community, the organization promises those who get involved will have the opportunity to feel good about doing something to enhance life in the Battlefords.
The Batttlefords United Way, which raised $205,000 last year, is looking for volunteers to help fundraise, assist with community events and bring ideas to the team.
The board meets once a month and spearheads six large community events, including BridgeFest, every year.
All funds raised by the blanket non-profit organization stay in the Battlefords. The money provides financial support to charitable organizations. The leg up from the United Way allows these agencies to focus more on providing programs, services and supports to children, youth, seniors, the homeless, the hungry and those who suffer from mental illness.
If you are looking for a way to give back to this great community, contact Mira Laprell-Elliott, executive director at 445-1717.
