The last Battleford Collegiate Institute reunion was in 2005. The school has been closed for 50 years so there wasn't any one left to do the organizing work for a 2010 reunion.
A few former students got together and planned a lunch in Battleford for September. We were a group of people who grew up and went to school at Saskatchewan Hospital at North Battleford, and friends who were also former BCI students. It was a great success as we had a chance to catch up and reminisce. There were also former students in Saskatoon who did not feel up to a drive to North Battleford, so a lunch was held there as well.
The outcome was that everyone thought it would be a good idea to have another lunch meeting this year.
Consequently there will be a BCI reunion luncheon Sept. 3, in Battleford. Former BCI students living in Saskatoon will also be meeting for lunch Aug. 29.
