WAPPEL: In Loving Memory of Alfred Wappel who was born June 15, 1923 at Medstead, SK and passed away October 22, 2012 at North Battleford, SK. Left to cherish Alfred's memory: his loving wife of 59 years, Eleanor; sons: Leonard and step-children: Richard & Robert and families; Garry (Monica) & family: Joseph, Caitlin (Richard) French; Lyle (Mandy), Candice (fiancé Adam) & family: Kasey & Reegan; brother, Reynold Wappel (his very special friend, Esther Dawson); sister-in-law, Mary Wappel and numerous nieces and nephews. Alfred was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Rosalie Wappel; brothers and sisters: John, Mary, Pauline, Rosie, Annie, Minnie, George, Anton & Joseph; daughter-in-law, Carol Wappel. Celebration of Alfred's Life was held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from "The Garden Chapel" ~ Battlefords Funeral Service, North Battleford, SK with Pastor Richard French officiating. Scripture Readers were Candice Wappel, Caitlin French & Monica Wappel. Eulogy was shared by Pastor Richard French. Gifts of Music were shared by Organist, Kathy Watson - Soloist Robert MacKay ~ "In The Garden" - Zion Lutheran Church Choir ~ "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "He Touched Me"; Recessional, "Go Rest High On That Mountain". Honourary Pallbearers were "All Who Shared Alfred's Life". Active Pallbearers were Joseph Wappel, Glen Wappel, Adam Bolig Brent Nixon, James Lehmond, and Darryl Seib. Memorials are requested to Heart and Stroke Foundation; Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation, Box 1358, North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8 (Designate to Palliative Care Unit) or a Charity of the Donor's Choice. Interment took place at Garden of Christus ~ Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, North Battleford, SK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service. Card of Thanks Thank you to Dr. Holtzhausen and the staff of 3rd floor Battlefords Union Hospital for their care of Alfred. Thank-you to soloist Bob MacKay, organist Kathy Watson and the Lutheran Church Choir for their ministry of music. Thanks to Pastor Richard French for officiating and to Battlefords Funeral Service for taking care of the arrangements. Thanks to the Presbyterian Church Ladies for the lunch. Thank you to all for the food, flowers, cards, visits and phone calls and for attending the service. We appreciate each one of you. ____________________________________________________
