TERNES: Elizabeth "Betty" Theresa Ternes, January 8, 1925 - December 13, 2012. Betty passed away peacefully at Stensrud Lodge on December 13th, 2012 at the age of 87.

TERNES: Elizabeth "Betty" Theresa Ternes, January 8, 1925 - December 13, 2012. Betty passed away peacefully at Stensrud Lodge on December 13th, 2012 at the age of 87. Betty was born in Tramping Lake, SK and spent most of her life in rural Saskatchewan where she raised her family. In 1974 she moved to North Battleford where she stayed for many years. In 2000 she moved to Saskatoon where she spent the rest of her life. Throughout the years Betty spent her time as a school teacher, a dietary aid in North Battleford, and a caring mother. Betty will be remembered by her spirited laugh, friendly personae, storytelling, and strong will. She is survived by her loving children, Dennis (Vicki) Ternes, Rhonda (Al) Lazerte, Ron (Pat) Ternes, Cheryl (Ken) Thoms, and Michelle (Blair) Duke; daughter-in-law, Jane Ternes; brother, Emmanuel (Veronica) Bertsch; and sister-in-law, Ann Bertsch; grandchildren, Darcy, Steele, Nicole, Ashala, Jennifer, Brittany, Drew, Ashton, Kristie, and Leslie; and her three great-grandchildren, all of who will lovingly remember her. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Michael; and son, Patrick Ternes. A special thank you to the staff at Stensrud Lodge for the wonderful care they gave our mom over the past few years. Vigil for Betty was held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17th and the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18th. Both services held at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church (217 Lenore Drive). Rite of Committal followed at the North Battleford Municipal Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Stensrud Lodge (2202 McEown Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7J 3L6).
