TAYLOR - Murray Taylor passed away peacefully at Battlefords Union Hospital on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the age of 91 years. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife of 66 years Anne (nee Reid) Taylor.

TAYLOR - Murray Taylor passed away peacefully at Battlefords Union Hospital on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the age of 91 years. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife of 66 years Anne (nee Reid) Taylor. Murray is survived by his sister-in-law Lois Taylor; brother-in-law Rod Blackman; numerous nieces & nephews; as well as special godchildren Peggy & Harry Donnelly, Carol & Kelly Chapman, and Brian Bostock and families. Murray was predeceased by his beloved parents Harvey & Susie (nee McBain) Taylor; his sisters Violet Blackman & Olive Jamieson; his brothers Jack (Rita) Taylor, Bob (Jean) Taylor, Dell Taylor, Jim Taylor & Doug Taylor; sister-in-laws Mary Webb & Georgina Clark; and brother-in-laws Bob (Georgina) Reid & George Reid. Murray was born in Smiley, SK on February 20, 1923 and later moved with his family to the Mervin Area. Murray joined the war effort in January 1942, serving with the RCASC 69th Division Tank Transport. Upon returning home he met Anne and the two were married on July 16th, 1947. Murray built a career in auto body and started his own business, Mainstreet Autobody, with good friend Bill Bostock in 1955. Murray and Anne retired the farm in 1970, where Murray had spent many hours working in his shop. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, curling, and long walks with his dog. The family has requested that donations in Murray's memory be made to Battlefords Union Hospital.
