STRIGA, MARY: "We miss you Ma God be with you, as we will be one day with you, until then Love you, Bye Mom". Mary was born in November in the Northvale District, SK. She was the youngest daughter of Peter and Margaret Warkentine. She has five brothers and four sisters. She went to school in Northvale for nine years. After leaving home she worked at numerous jobs. In 1961, she married a neighbor's boy, Walter Striga. With this union came three boys; Eugene, Reynold and Bradley. She loved her sons with all her heart and would have given her life for any one of her sons. There was lots of good times, camping, fishing, trapping, skinning fur and even a few parties. Mom spent many, many hours working in her garden which she loved. Sadly she passed away at Battleford Union Hospital after a short stay on September 6, 2012. The family appreciates the great care given by the Hospital staff to their Mom during her stay in the Hospital. She will be missed so very much by her sons; Eugene Striga (Marilyn) of Rapid View, SK, Reynold (Susan) Striga and their children, Juanita, Ryan and David of Meadow Lake, SK, Bradley (Kathy) Striga of Mayfair, SK, and her brothers: John (Sadie) Warkentine of Radisson, SK, Jake (Evelyn) Warkentine of Radisson, SK and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and anyone who shared in her life. Mary is predeceased by: her husband, Walter in 2004, her parents, Peter and Margaret Warkentine, her brothers, Peter, Isaac and George Warkentine, her sisters, Margaret Siemens, Elizabeth Saccucci, Katie Alstrom and Helen Sobering and her daughter-in-law, Margaret Striga. Funeral Service for Mary was held Monday, September 10th, 2012 at 10:30 am from the Community Hall in Mayfair, Saskatchewan. Memorial Donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation (Cardiac Care) Box 1358 North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8. Mary's final resting place is by her husband Walter's side in the Mullingar Cemetery. Email condolences to will be forwarded to the family.
