STOCKS : It is with sadness that we mourn the passing of Edna Stocks (Nee: Hirtz) who was born July 25, 1924 at Birsay, SK and passed away April 1, 2012 at Battleford, SK at the age of 87 years. Edna is survived by her loving children, Dale and Cheryl; sister, Doris Imbeau; sisters-in-law, Doreen (Percy) Hirtz, Lona (Frank) Hirtz, Eunice (Allan) Stocks and numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her husband, Wyn; parents, Tony & Marie Hirtz; brothers, Ralph (Myrtle), Frank & Percy Hirtz. Edna had a full life. She was a "joiner" and always played a very active role in her community where ever that community might be. She married Wyn in 1949 at Meadow Lake, SK and because of Wyn's career, moved several times before settling in Battleford in 1967. Edna belonged to many organizations and she was extremely active in her church and the U.C.W. (United Church Women). She loved her family and her home. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved playing scrabble, Dominos and cards and always looked forward to Tuesday mornings at Meota for scrabble and music. She had many dear friends and she will be greatly missed. CARD OF THANKS The family would like to thank the medical and support staff at Battleford's Home Care, Battlefords Union Hospital and Battlefords District Care Centre for their care and support. We would also like to thank all of Mom's family and friends for their concern and support over the years, especially her friends and neighbors on 26th Street who helped mom over the years.
