Left to cherish Dan's memory, his loving wife of 52 years Vivian ; daughter, Brenda (Tim) Mennie of Fort McMurray, AB; son, Darryl (Donna) Seib of Battleford, SK; granddaughter, Ashley (Justin) Day of Martensville, SK; grandson, Dustin Seib of Battleford, SK; granddaughter, Amber Seib of Battleford, SK; brothers: Edward (Rosie) Seib of Winfield, BC, Ken (Naomie) Seib of Deschambault Lake, SK and Les (Edna) Seib Chilliwack, BC; brothers-In-law: Thomas Caldwell, Maymont, SK, Elmer Seib, Battleford, SK, and Raymond (Wendy) Seib, Lang, SK; sister-in-law Eleanor Wappel, North Battleford, SK; numerous nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his parents, George and Emma Seib; mother and father-in-law, Erma and John Seib; brothers-in-law: Art Seib and Alfred Wappel; sisters-in-law, Lillian Caldwell, Thelma Seib and Vicki Seib. The Funeral Service was held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, North Battleford, SK with Mrs. Joyce Salie, officiating. Memorials are requested to Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550-12th Ave., Regina, SK S4P 3X1; Zion Lutheran Church, 10801 Winder Cres., North Battleford, SK S9A 2B9 or Charity of the Donors Choice. Family Shared Memories Dan Seib was the eldest of four sons, born to George and Emma Seib. He attained a Grade 8 education at Glaslyn, SK. He worked at various jobs before moving to Edmonton in the winter of 1956. He found a job at Â鶹´«Ã½AV Park Motors and obtained a mechanic apprenticeship. Dan graduated as a mechanic from NAIT in 1963 and worked in this field for forty years. While at Â鶹´«Ã½AV Park Motors, he was part of a Civil Defense Team that called themselves "Rescue 8". In 1961 he married Vivian; they lived in Edmonton until they moved to North Battleford in 1964, to raise their children, Brenda and Darryl. Dan was always kind, loving, patient, gentle, smart, supportive, honest and ready to lend a helping hand at any time. He was always there for his family, teaching Darryl how to fix his truck, pulling him around the lake behind the boat and in the winter behind the skidoo. He rescued Brenda when she backed into a hole or needed her vehicle fixed. Dan had a great love of gardening with his wife Vivian. They planned their backyard that contained many fountains, animals and woodwork that Dan built in his shop. He was a quiet man with a smile that reached his eyes. He loved a good joke and with his phenomenal memory could always come up with something that would make you laugh. He loved ice cream; he was always trying to sneak an extra scoop onto your plate, if you were not paying attention. His three grandchildren were the light of his life, and right to the end his eyes would light up when they came to visit. Dan loved his backyard with his wife, family, friends enjoying a fire and a cup of tea. Rest well Dan, your walk on earth is over; and you have earned your rest.
