EULOGY Eva was born on a farm in Sintaluta, SK on a very cold day on Jan. 27, 1925 to Joseph and Julia Waddell. She had 5 siblings, Ed, Vern, Allan, Sidney and Margaret. Her mother said she was a little bit of a thing so she got the nickname scraps. Eva attended 8 years at Bjelde Creek School. She met the love of her life, Michael Schweitzer at a dance at Willomore School. Eva saw a tall, skinny guy standing at the back of the room. He came over and asked her for a dance; they danced quite a bit during the night, she thought he was just it! After Mickey served over 5 years in the war, they met again at another dance at the town hall. After a short while of dating, Mickey asked Eva to marry him, they went to Lloydminster with another couple and were married, June 29, 1946. Music was a big part of Mick and Eva's life. One of their first big events was playing on the CJNB radio station. They played for many dances in the Battlefords and surrounding areas. Eva also belonged to an orchestra called The Swing-Alongs. Mike and Eva had 5 children, Danford, Erryl, Kurt, Alma and Laurie. Many weekends were spent at the Weran and Owen farms playing music until the sun came up. So much fun was had by adults and children. For many years the Legion was a big part in Mick and Eva's life. Eva became a life-long member of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary Branch Number 9. After the kids left home, Mick and Eva did a bit of travelling and took in many ball games following the Battlefords Boys team all over the place, they were very loyal fans! Bingo, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, painting pictures and doing many crafts everyday was a big part of Eva's life. She loved keeping her hands busy. Eva lived everyday for her family and loved everyone in a special way.
