SAWATZKY ~ John Frank Sawatzky passed away at Maidstone, Saskatchewan on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the age of 91 years. John will be sadly missed by his wife; Helena, Children; Bev (Leander) Dyck, Carol Funk, Phil (Debbie) Sawatzky, Henry (Joan) Sawatzky, Marilyn (Wayne) Isaac, 17 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, Brothers; Frank Sawatzky, Isaac (Margaret) Sawatzky, Dave (Miriam) Sawatzky, Sister; Anne Fehr, and numerous other relatives. John was predeceased by his Son; Dan Sawatzky, Son in law; Clarence Funk, Brothers; Pete Sawatzky, Jake Sawatzky, and Henry Sawatzky, and Sister; Nettie Harder. The funeral service for John was conducted from the Maidstone Baptist Church, Maidstone, Saskatchewan on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Ken Yeo officiating. The Eulogy & Tribute were read by Steven Funk. The piano prelude was played by Beth Cottrill. The congregational hymns were led by Bob Cottrill accompanied by Bev Dyck on the piano. Special Music was played by Bev Dyck, Carol Funk, Joan & Henry Sawatzky, and Phil & Debbie Sawatzky. The Active Pallbearers were Lowell Dyck, Chris Isaac, Jeremy Funk, Paul Funk, Ethan Sawatzky, and Jesse Sawatzky. The interment was held in the Maidstone Cemetery, followed by lunch at the Maidstone Legion Hall. Donations in memory of John Sawatzky may be made to the Northern Canada Evangelical Mission (NCEM). McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
