ROTHENBURGER: Rothenburger, Allan Samuel William 1948 - 2013. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 17, 2013, Allan Rothenburger passed from this life at Royal University Hospital at the age of 64 years. Allan is survived by his mother Mary Rothenburger, his brother Alvin (Susan) Rothenburger, niece Cari (Jason) Pankewich, nephews Chad (Adena) Rothenburger, and Chase (Clare Anstead) Rothenburger, niece Tamara (Jeff) Bellmont, nephew Jeff (Joanne) Bronsch, uncle Nick Boklaschuk, and numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews. Allan was predeceased by his father Sam Rothenburger, son Troy Rothenburger, wife Twila Rothenburger, and sister Josephine Bronsch. Allan was born on September 20th, 1948 in Borden, Saskatchewan and was raised on the Rothenburger family farm near Radisson. He attended Grand Valley School and Radisson High School in his youth and upon completion of school joined the military. Allan served for three years before returning home to work in various occupations including construction, custom combining, ranching, as well as work with various hunting and guiding companies. He then opened his own fly-in fishing camp named Close Lake Camp which he ran with his son Troy. Allan found joy in nature and was passionate about hunting. He loved hunting ducks and deer, as well as catching fish in the North. He had many wonderful memories of Close Lake Camp, including flying on float planes, fishing and hunting expeditions, and spending time with his son Troy. His later years were spent back in Radisson where he loved to watch old westerns and reminisce about past adventures. Allan is now at peace in the eternal land of the Lord: And high up in the heavens Riding trails that have no end On mustangs made of rawhide Chasing thunder on the wind 2001, Jay Jones A graveside memorial service will be held at the Radisson Cemetery at a later date.
