Rev. Joseph Norbert Fuchs : Rev. Joseph Norbert Fuchs passed away on May 24, 2012 in Cut Knife, SK. at the age of 93 years. He was born to Joseph John Fuchs and Mary Scolastica Kerchner in Prince Albert, SK on March 9, 1919. Following his schooling in St. Louis, SK. he attended the College of the Jesuits in Edmonton, AB, Philosophy at College Mathieu in Gravelbourg, SK. and Theology at St. Augustine's Seminary in Toronto. He spoke both English and French. Following his ordination on June 2, 1946 at St. Louis, SK, he was Assistant Pastor in Wakaw June 1946 to March 1948; Assistant Pastor at St. Louis March 1948 to September 1953; Substitute Pastor at St. Louis January 12, 1953; Pastor at Baldwinton and Carruthers August 2, 1953 to 1989; Administrator of Cut Knife, Neilburg, Seagram, Marsden April 5, 1965 to 1995. He retired in Cut Knife on July 31, 1995. He will be greatly missed. Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are Bishop Albert Thevenot, his fellow priests, his diocesan family, relatives and friends. He was predeceased byy his father in 1950, his mother in 1958 and his brother Clarence in 1995. A Prayer of Vigil was held on Monday, May 28th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Most Rev. Albert Thevenot, Bishop of Prince Albert on Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Both services were held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Cut Knife, SK. Interment followed later that day at the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Hill Cemetery in Prince Albert, SK. Memorial Donations may be made to the Cut Knife Special Care Home (Cut Knife Complex Only), Prairie North Health Region. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cut Knife, SK. or a charity of your choice.
