RAICHE: Norma Raiche February 11, 1929 - February 12, 2012 It is with profound sadness and sorrow that the family of Norma Raiche (Paulson) announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend after a brief illness. When God came to take Norma's hand, her family by her side regretfully had to let her go. Although she did not want to leave us, her little body was too tired and she needed to rest. God knew this and took her gently with Him. Norma was born February 11, 1929 in Fosston, Saskatchewan to Ole and Brita Paulson. Norma is lovingly remembered by her husband and soul mate of 59 years, Alfred; children Randall (Joan), Freemon, Miquela (Jason) and Eli, daughter-in-law Carol; Janet (Dennis) Baranieski, Brita (Brennan), Brendan (Jolene), Brianne (Andre), Brent; Dean (Sue); Darrin, Darien, Adrianna; Josh, son Shamus, and Jodi (Jason). Norma was pre-deceased by her parents, in-laws, and daughter, Jo Ann Lommer. Norma attended school in White Fox, Saskatchewan. She said some of her best memories were spent in White Fox playing fastball, swimming in the river, and spending time outside. Norma and Alfred moved from Saskatoon to Kopps Kove, Turtle Lake when Norma retired. They loved hosting the annual family gathering every summer there and looked forward to every visitor they received. Grammy was the happiest and most positive person you could meet. She found something positive and good every day of her life. She loved everything and appreciated the simplest things in life, especially children, flowers, birds, animals, cookies and crossword puzzles. She loved her family dearly and always greeted each one of us with a smile and a huge hug. She will be forever missed. An enormous thank you goes to the staff at The Battlefords Union Hospital, especially in the ICU. Each and every staff member treated Grandma with exceptional kindness, generosity and dignity. Our family will be forever grateful for the care she received. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made directly to the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation.
