It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene May Powell on March 23rd, 2015 at the age of 87. Irene was born December 11th, 1927 in Dropmore, Manitoba to Robert and Jessie Hunt. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Kathe Leigh Driedger (Ron), Wendy Ann Powell and grandchildren: Cindy Lee Powell, Rachel Dawn Blais-Erker (Tyler), Stefanie Erin Driedger (Kris), and Marissa Nicole Driedger (Kyle), siblings: Alice Argdah (d. Bill), George Hunt (Elva) and Robert (Kathleen), brother-in-law: Denys (Betty) and sister-in-law: Monica Powell. She was predeceased by her husband: Stewart Chambers Powell, siblings: Gwen Crawford (d. Bill), Ernie Hunt, brother-in-law Harry (Gladys). Irene was a bookkeeper and a hairdresser before becoming a homemaker. She was a loving and caring person who always had a smile on her face. Cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held April 4th at 2:00 p.m. from Sallows & McDonald Funeral Home.
