MILLER: Michael John Miller, December 8, 1913 - August 9, 2013, It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Michael Miller. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Marie Miller, his wife Vida, his sons Paul in infancy and Gerald, his brothers, Henry, George and William and his sister, Caroline. He is survived by his sons, Terry (Rosanne) of Regina and their children Brad (Jennifer) of Calgary (and their children Alex and April) and Trisha (Bradley) of Prince Albert (and their children Tatianna, Isaiah and Dominic); and Ronald (Brenda) of Rockhaven and son Dale (Audrey) of Devon, AB (and Dale's son William); daughter in law Eva and her daughter Natasha (Ryan) Phillipson (and their children Braden, Riley, Kyle and Rena); granddaughter Gaianne (Christopher) Vaughn (and their children Lee, Asta and Keanna); his sister Erna Slovinski of Winnipeg; numerous nieces and nephews and by his special friend, Millie Fraser of Assiniboia, SK. Mike was born on the family farm near Limerick, SK. He took his schooling at Milton School. As a young man he worked in the Rockhaven area and married Vida Smith. Mike enlisted in 1944 and fought overseas with the Canadian Scottish Regiment seeing service in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. He returned to the prairies in 1946 and moved his family to Trail, BC. They moved back to the Rockhaven area in 1948 to purchase and farm the land that had been the Smith farm. He lived on the farm until 2007 when he moved to Parkview Place in Unity where he was living at the time of his death. Funeral was held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10;30am at Cut Knife United Church with Rev. Linda Emberley officiating. Internment took place in the Cut Knife Cemetery. Friends so wishing can make donations in Mike's memory to Parkview Place, Box 477, Unity, SK, S0K 4L0.
