L'HEUREUX: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emile L'Heureux, late of North Battleford, Saskatchewan on December 6, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Emile Joseph was born on September 12, 1924 at Jackfish District, Saskatchewan. Emile is lovingly remembered by his best friend and partner Lynn McLean; son Louis (Judy) L'Heureux; daughter Illian Stephens; grandchildren: Tammie Siltala (Reed), Bryan Hackney (Tracey), Tim Rahm, Scotty (Brooke) L'Heureux, Cosette Rahm, Rene L'Heureux (Evan); great-grandchildren: Miles Kappel-Poulton (Katherine), Jeremy Kappel (Shannon), Rebecca Kappel (Leif), David Hackney, Braden Wedman, Jayden Barret, Taylor, Mackenzie, and Jayden L'Heureux; sisters Louisa Baillargeon, Blanche Dussault, Lucienne Luchka (Peter); brothers Moise L'Heureux (Mildred) and Leonard L'Heureux; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Leonidas and Josephine L'Heureux; wife Mary L'Heureux; brothers Edward, Ralph, and William; sisters Marguerite, Julien, and Marie-Reine. The memorial service was held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from St. Andre Roman Catholic Church, North Battleford with Reverend Father Gerard Legaspi as celebrant. The family has requested that donations in Emile's memory be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Interment took place at the Town of Battleford Cemetery.
