³¢´¡µþµþÉ - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Réne Augustine Labbé, late of North Battleford, on January 17, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Réne was born on December 12, 1926 at North Battleford, SK. Réne is survived by his loving children: Debbie, David (Audrey), Laurie, Lynn, Dana, Larry, and Bryan; his stepchildren: Stella, Deanna, Linda, Marlene, and Debbie; brothers and sisters: Cecile (Don) Sorge, Lucy (Lou) Beatch, Alphonse (Joyce), William, Jacqueline (Norm) Kress; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Agnes; his parents Edouard and Alexandrina Labbé; brothers John (Louise) Labbé and Lucien (Jackie) Labbé; stepdaughter Donna (Rob) Riviere. Dad loved working in his garden and flower beds. He and Agnes loved their backyard and spent lots of days out back. He also loved playing cribbage, watching boxing, and his Leafs. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from Sallows and McDonald - Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, North Battleford with Reverend Father Gerard Legaspi as celebrant. Lou Beatch gave the eulogy. Honorary pallbearers were All those who shared in Réne's life. Pallbearers were: Ryan Labbé-Brady, Stacey Trudgian, Ken Kemp, Matthew Kemp, Scott Kemp, and Tylan Kemp. Interment took place at the City of North Battleford Cemetery. The family have requested that memorial donations be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #70, directed to the Poppy Fund or the Building Fund, PO Box 777, North Battleford, SK S9A 2Y9. His sense of fairness, his honesty, and his determination to always find the good in all things and especially in all people will remain guidelines in ourhearts forever.
