KYLUIK (nee Smith): Carole Vivian Colville Kyluik (nee Smith) was born May 14, 1948 in North Battleford, SK to William and Helen Smith of Medstead, SK. She passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2012 with her daughters by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Carole spent her early years on her parent's farm near Birch Lake, SK. Carole married Al Kyluik of Speers, SK on October 21, 1978. Carole and Al raised two daughters Shana and Stacey in North Battleford. Carole worked at the Auditorium and Stock Yards before starting her position at the Union Hospital in 1977. Carole retired in 2009. Carole was actively involved in various activities and was a vibrant, considerate, hard-working individual. She was always willing to lend a hand and an ear to listen. She loved to visit and talk on the phone with family and friends. Carole never let adversity stand in her way, and always put others first. Carole travelled to Scotland with her mother at a young age and never forgot her first holiday. She was proud to have the opportunity to take her daughters to Scotland and introduce them to travelling. Carole's love for travelling took her many places throughout Canada and the US. She loved to share her memories of travelling and was always sure to bring something back for her daughters. Carole is survived by her daughters Shana Kyluik (Rob) of North Battleford, SK and Stacey Poirier (Matthew) of Unity, SK; brother, Ron; sister-in-law, Karen; sister, Maureen Smith (Jim Olkanych) and brother, Brian Smith (Arlene). A Celebration of Life was held on December 29, 2012 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall in North Battleford, Sk. The family wishes to thank all who were able to attend. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Battleford's Union Hospital Foundation Inc.
