KEMP - In loving memory of Allan Lorne Kemp who was born on June 3, 1930 in North Battleford and passed away on June 3, 2013 at the age of 83 years, at the Battlefords Union Hospital. Left to cherish his memory of 62 years is his loving wife Olive, loving sons and daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren; Lorne (Marilyn) Kemp of North Battleford and their son Jake; Roger (Shirley) Kemp of North Battleford and their daughters Shannon (Tayven), Mirna, Rachel, and Stacey; Sharon Burnett of North Battleford and her children Terry (Jennifer), Daryl (Amber), and Jennifer; Donna (Steve) Thompson of Red Deer, Alberta and her daughters Samantha, Angela (Luis), Alexis and Moria; Ken (Debbie) Kemp of North Battleford and their sons Matthew (Tanya), Scott (Kari) and Tylan; numerous great grandchildren; brothers Russell and Harry of North Battleford; sisters Ivy Thorogood of Surrey, B.C. and Irene Ainsworth of New West Minister, B.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Allan was predeceased by his parents William and Gladys Kemp; brothers Ronald, George, and Gordon; and sisters Elsie Dennis and Ethel Grieve. Allan Lorne Kemp was born June 3rd, 1930 to William and Gladys Kemp, the youngest of the family of ten. He was raised on the family farm in the Metropole District, where he had all his schooling. In 1947 Allan moved to New Westminster, B.C. and worked in a sawmill. This is where he met the love of his life Olive Weselak. In 1950 Allan married Olive and they had five children, then in 1962 they moved back to the family farm. Allan enjoyed farming and also spent a lot of time in his shop. In the spring Allan was anxious to be the first one in his area to start seeding. During the summer months, every Sunday, he would take the family up to Murray Lake. In their later years Mom and Dad enjoyed their evenings driving around the country and many times just relaxing at home. Even at the age of 82 he was still farming and had his health remained, to this day, he would still be out working the land. By Allan's request there would be cremation and no funeral service, but a Family Memorial at a later date. Card of Thanks On behalf of Allan Kemp his family would like to thank Dr. Johnson, Scott Parker (Palliative Care Coordinator) and the nursing staff on 3rd floor and palliative care for their compassionate care and wonderful support. In lieu of flowers donations can be directed to the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. We would also like to thank Trevor Watts of Eternal Memories for the cremation service and arrangements provided. Dear Grandpa Now's the time you said goodbye to this life we got to share. Even though it's not exactly what I asked for in my prayers. We know you always loved us, as your smile was always found mirrored in your twinkling eyes whenever we were around. You will always be appreciated, of everything you did, of everything you said, of the life you lived. Most of all, we won't forget of your unconditional love, a love that we always feel as you watch over us from above. Now when we think of our grandpa, we couldn't ask for more, everything that we have to remember will always be cherished and adored.
