KELLER; Carmen Lawrence Keller Age 70 of Nanaimo, BC passed away suddenly Tuesday July 10, 2012 at Atton?s Lake, SK. Carmen was born in Edmonton AB on August 29th 1941.His childhood was spent in North Battleford playing baseball and also the saxophone with the Kinsmen Marching Band. Carmen developed many lasting friendships during his time spent playing baseball with the North Battleford Beavers and was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame. In 1959 he married Gail Oatway and together they raised three children. Carmen worked as a sales person for his entire career and remained in contact with friends made during that time. After retiring Carmen and Gail moved to Nanaimo, BC which has been their principle residence over the past 10 years. Summers were always spent at the family cabin in Atton?s lake. He loved cars, golfing, having coffee with his friends and spending time with his family. Many people will remember Carmen for his wonderful and sometimes wicked sense of humor. He will be missed. Carmen is survived by his wife Gail, his daughter Donna-Lee (Michael) Hagarty, sons John (Gayle) Keller and Doug (Robin) Keller. Grandchildren Jamie (Mike) Rodgers, Jillian, Christopher, Charlie, Jackson and Adam. Sister Carol Basset, nephew Jacques (Susan) Pelletier and niece Roberta and grand nephew Aiden. He was predeceased by his father Peter and his mother Mary. Respecting Carmen?s wishes there will be no funeral service. There will be a celebration of Carmen?s life to be held with friends and family at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity that is close to your heart.
