JEFFREY: Doreen Elizabeth Jeffrey, January 10, 1926 - September 8, 2013. The family is sad to announce the passing of Doreen Jeffrey (Nee Kay) on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Battlefords Union Hospital. She is survived by her son Chris Hodge of North Battleford, grandsons Adam (Jenn) Hodge, Abbigaile and Spencer of Ontario, Sean (Megan) Hodge of Ontario, and sisters Rose Calligan and Mary Wally. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, she served in the Canadian Women's Army Corp in Ottawa during the war, subsequently marrying Victor Hodge. They had two children, Christopher and Victoria. Victoria tragically passed away at age sixteen. After her husband's death Doreen moved to a small farm in Alberta and remarried Mr. Ken Jeffrey of Neilburg, Saskatchewan, later moving to North Battleford. She will be missed by many due to her outgoing personality, selling vintage jewelry at local craft shows and supporting local arts and artists whenever possible. A memorial service will be held at a later date for the many people she has touched during her stay. The family wishes to thank the Home Care team for their excellent and caring service during a difficult time.
