CROWSTON, AURIE FRANCIS (HARRY): Aurie Francis (Harry) Crowston: Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 13, 1919. Harry grew up in a small summer resort town called Meota. When he was 19, he met Drieny Wollen who was 16. Harry joined the Air Force in 1940 and then married Drieny in 1941. He spent five years on the Air Force traveling through most of the Eastern Provinces. He went to England in 1943; Drieny was two months pregnant at the time. He returned in September 1945 to meet his two year old son named Aurie. In 1947, their daughter, Elizabeth, was born. In 1955 they moved from North Battleford to Portland OR for two years and then went east to Pendleton for another two years. They later returned to Portland and to Cedar Mill Bible Church. Harry retired from Chown Hardware in 1983. Since Harry and Drieny both loved to travel, they began taking trips and did so extensively. For 30 years they spent their winters the Palm Springs, CA area. Just this winter they made their last trip down south in their fifth wheel. They then passed it on to their granddaughter and her family to enjoy as they had for many years. The Lord took Harry home on September 7, 2012 at the age of 93 after 72 years of marriage. They were blessed with five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great - great - grandchild (another one is due in December). Harry is also survived by siblings; Jeanne Pollard - Edam, SK; Eugene (Ev) Crowston - North Battleford, SK; Phyllis (Roger) Williams - Prince Albert, SK; Johnny (Gena) Crowston - Kamloops, BC; Herb ( Bev) Crowston - Surry, BC; sister-in-law Josephine Crowston - Collingwood, ON. ____________________________________________________
