COOPER: Victor Joseph Cooper, resident of North Battleford, SK, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at North Battleford. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley; son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter: Gordon, Lesya and Coren Cooper; sister, Ramona Gelinas; brothers: his twin Edward, Gary, Ivan and Lawrence Cooper and many, many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He is predeceased by his son, Alan Edward Cooper, parents: George and Albina Cooper, sisters: Rita Cooper, Charlotte Cooper and Jean Lessard and brothers: Rene and Lorne Cooper. Vic was a prominent figure and Manager at Hunter's Sport Shop for some of his 30+ years working with Harry Bondar. After retiring from Hunter's, he spent 15 years as Manager of the North Battleford Housing Authority before retiring againonly to work at Phoenix Sports with his first love - "sports and equipment". Sport was his love and he never missed a "North Star Hockey Game" and was very much involved. Mass Of Christian Burial was held Friday, November 16, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. from St. Joseph Calasanctius Roman Catholic Church, North Battleford, SK with Fr. Gerard Cooper Celebrant assisted by Fr. Val Besas, St. Joseph Parish Priest. The Cross Bearer was Granddaughter, Coren Cooper; Introductions by Gordon Cooper and Eulogy by Lawrence Cooper. Liturgy Of The Word was shared by 1st Reading: from the Book Of Ecclesiastes ~ Della Webster; 2nd Reading: First Letter Of John ~ Amy Finch; General Intercessions ~ Krista Lessard; Liturgy Of The Eucharist: Offertory Gifts ~ Karen Denluck and Sharon Cooper. Music Ministry was Organist, Doreen Gilles; Soloist, Bob MacKay ~ "Ave Maria" and St. Joseph Faith Community Choir. The Honourary Pallbearers were Lawrence Lessard, Louie Lessard, Mike Lessard, Jeff Cooper, Lorne Cooper Jr and Kenton Cooper. The Urn Bearer was Gordon Cooper. Memorials are requested to River Heights Lodge Auxiliary, 2001 - 99th St, North Battleford, SK S9A 0S3. Cremation Rite Of Committal - Vic was interred with his son Alan at the City Cemetery, North Battleford, SK.
