CARLSON ~ Helvi Carlson passed away at the Riverside Health Complex, Turtleford, Saskatchewan on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Helvi leaves to mourn her passing: three children: Robert (Faye) Carlson of Innisfail, Alberta, Karen O'Hare of Lacombe, Alberta and Diane (Jim) Mosimann of Edam, Saskatchewan; 6 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; three brothers, Charlie (Dorothy) Kivimaa, Harold (Darlene) Kivimaa and Jimmy (Irene) Kivimaa. Helvi was predeceased by her husband, Gustave Carlson; sister, Minerva Bergen and brother, Vilho Kivimaa. The Funeral Service for Helvi was conducted from Livelong Community Hall on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dan Gies officiating. The eulogy was given by her daughters, Karen O'Hare and Diane Mosimann. The hymns sung, "In The Garden" and "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" were accompanied by Ruth Schimpf. The duet, "In The Sweet By And By" was performed by Wilfred and Darlene Hamm. The active pallbearers were Frank Denny, Rick Denny, Rob Denny, Shawn Kivimaa, Brent LaClare and Robert Mosimann. Interment was held in the Livelong Cemetery. Donations in memory of Helvi may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, Riverside Health Complex and United Way. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family of the late Helvi Carlson would like to express our deep gratitude to the staff of the Riverside Nursing home for the personal care and attention they gave to our mother during her stay with them. Thank you to everyone who attended the funeral and to those who sent condolences, flowers, cards and donations. Thank you to McCaw Funeral Service for handling the arrangements, Pastor Dan Gies for officiating, Ruth Schimpf for playing the organ, Wilfred and Darlene Hamm for their duet. A special thanks to the Livelong Ladies for catering lunch and to our family members who acted as pallbearers.
