BUCKINGHAM: Marguerite Ernestine (nee Combres). Enjoyed a great life and passed away July 18, 2012 at the Riverside Health Complex, Turtleford, Saskatchewan at the age of 93. Predeceased by husband Herbert (Bert) Buckingham; by brothers Leon, Raymond and Emile Combres; and by sister Renee Boutin. Loving mother to Jean Lake (Harry) of Turtleford and Donald Buckingham (Janet) of Ottawa, Ontario; grandmother to Rhonda Harty (Ernie) of Battleford, Brad Lake (Danielle) of Lloydminster, Alberta, Sydney Lake of Turtleford, Ben Buckingham of Langley, B.C., and Julia Buckingham of Ottawa; great-grandmother to Dane and Tanner Harty and Emily, Ada and Juliet Lake. Marguerite, daughter of Frederic and Marie Combres, grew up on the family farm at Square Hill, Saskatchewan. She taught school in Saskatchewan at Bodmin, Mullingar, Rex, Hill Valley, and in Alberta at Mossleigh, Blackie, Warwickville, Dewberry and Marwayne. Marguerite was devoted to family and friends. She loved farming, gardening, bowling and playing cards. She was genuinely interested in people and the world around her. At age 90, Marguerite wrote her autobiography, Life and Love Among the Chickens: Reflections of a Life Well-Lived. A funeral was held on August 3 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Lloydminster with the interment of her ashes at the Buckingham family plot near Mullingar, Saskatchewan on August 6.
