ARCAND - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Marie Arcand, late of Delmas, on Friday, May 3 at the age of 76 years. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her partner Louis Alexander Arcand; her children: Grant (Jamie) Smockum, Shirley (Robert) Fortman, Cricket (Brian) Reynoldson, Verna Smockum, Steven Smockum, Sara (Dan) Whittaker, Kathy (Cory) Haliwyz; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; siblings: Caroline (Jim), Sandra, Beatruce, Christine, Charlie, and Orville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Cory and Evelyn Neil; siblings Harvey, Alma, Elsie, Percy, and Muriel. A Graveside Service was held on Friday, May 10 from the Borden Cemetery in Borden, Saskatchewan with Reverend Gayle Wensley officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Reynoldson, Dan Whittaker, Mike Bidyk, Robert Fortman, Cory Smockum, Edwin Smockum, Cory Haliwyz, and Joe Whittaker. If friends so desire, donations in Marie's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
