ANTONIADES: The death of Panos Frank "Tony" Antoniades, age 83 years, occurred on December 29, 2011 at North Battleford, SK. Panos was born on June 16, 1928 at 1072-104th (York Street), North Battleford, SK. He received his elementary education at Connaught School and later attended N.B.C.I, completing his secondary education. He was well known for his years in the retail automotive business. He was with Calvert Motors for 23 years as the sales manager. For a number of years he flew and instructed with McPhail Airways and Mitchinsons Flying Service of Saskatoon. On July 11, 1960 he married Mary Lucille Frost of Allan, SK and the couple resided in North Battleford since that time. Mary Lou passed away November 12, 1997. Panos was a member of Battlelodge #19 A.F. and A.M. Battleford, SK since 1955. A member of the Saskatoon consistery of Scottish Rite. He has been a member of the United Commercial Travellers since 1950. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at St. Paul's Anglican Church in North Battleford. The Reverend Peter Norman officiated the service with Mrs. Junice Headley as organist, Jaya Hoy as pianist and Menno Fieguth singing "The Lord's Prayer." Scripture was read by Ron Dewald and Larry Sommerfeld. Larry Sommerfeld will give the eulogy. Pallbearers were: Kelly Page, Jeff Akister, Tim Benda, Ron Dewald, Austin Mawson, Dave Page, and Larry Sommerfeld, with honorary pallbearers being all those who shared in the memories of Tony's life. An Honour Guard was formed by The North Battleford Legion Branch #70. Interment took place at the family plot in the City Cemetery, North Battleford. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Katherine (Tim) Benda of Santa Barbara, CA; nieces: Joanne (Tim) Chew and son David; Barbara (Jim) deLaurier and their children Jake, Zoe, and Crosby; nephew David (Meg) Benda and their children Grace and Faith; very special friends Dave and Val Page, daughter Vanessa (Jeff) Akister, son Kelly (Becky) Page and their children Nicholas and Aiden; and Bev and Larry Sommerfeld. Tony was predeceased by his wife Mary Lou in 1997; parents Photios (Frank) in 1943 and Johanna in 1993. The family have requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tony's memory may be made to The Mary Lou and Panos Antoniades Fund, c/o the Battlefords and District Community Foundation, PO Box 1302, North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8, or a charity of the donor's choice.
