“There’s a shot,” that Trevor Harris will start for the Saskatchewan Roughriders against Ottawa this week.

Trevor Harris was back on the field with the Saskatchewan Roughrider offence on Monday but his status for Friday's game against Montreal is still unclear.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders returned to practice, Monday, for the first time after last Thursday’s 22-22 tie in Ottawa and Quarterback Trevor Harris took his fair share of reps with the first team offence.

Harris has been out of the line-up since suffering a left knee injury in week 3 against Hamilton. Since then, he has been on the Roughriders six-game-injured list but was given medical clearance to return to practice last week.

When asked after the workout if Harris would start this week against Montreal, Head Coach Corey Mace said, “we’ll see nothing’s promised, but there definitely is a shot for that but I will make a decision at the end of the week.”

Prior to the injury the 12-year veteran had completed 72 percent of his passes for 872 passing yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions.

Harris said that the injury was, “obviously a little bit more than what I had hoped for in terms of what the damage was.” But when asked about his availability to play on Friday night, “that’s kinda just going to be up to (Head Coach Corey) Mace and the docs and everybody but shoot I’m always just going to say yes.”

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are back in action on Friday night when they host Montreal at Mosaic Stadium.
