The Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association has recognized a number of individuals with awards.
The awards were announced in conjunction with their annual general meeting June 24, and include several from the Battlefords and surrounding communities.
One Service Award recipient is Tom Hawboldt of North Battleford. Hawboldt has been involved in athletics for more than 30 years as a participant and coach.
The SHSAA Merit Award was handed out to five individuals including Greg Mamer of Wilkie, for his years with the McLurg High School Broncs.
Retiring members of the executive include Edam’s Darren Nordell. Newly elected to the provincial executive council is Brad Nemish, Section IV representative, from Spiritwood.
