Representing Saskatchewan and all of Canada on the grandest stage

Saskatchewan's Olympic contingent will feature three support and mission staff, five coaches and 15 athletes with ties to the province.

As the world turns its attention to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Saskatchewan athletes are gearing up to showcase their talents on the grandest stage of them all. Representing the amazing province of Saskatchewan, these athletes bring with them not only their skills but also the spirit of their province.

Among the athletes from Saskatchewan, a few notable athletes stand out. In track and field, we have Sarah Jenkins, a sprinter known for her explosive speed and tenacity. Hailing from Regina, Jenkins has broken records in national competitions and is poised to make a significant impact at her Olympic debut.

In swimming, Saskatoon-born Mark Thompson is set to compete in the freestyle events. Thompson, known for his smooth technique and endurance, has steadily risen through the ranks and now aims to make a splash in Paris.

Michelle Harrison, from Saskatoon, competing in the 100 metre hurdles. At 31 this is her first Olympics and she is a story of perseverance and determination to make her goal of competing at an Olympics a reality.

For team sports, the province boasts representation in women's volleyball with Megan Carter, a formidable blocker from Moose Jaw. Her agility and strategic play are vital assets to Team Canada's medal aspirations.

Following years of dedication to sport through the grassroots level to high performance, 23 individuals from Saskatchewan will represent the province at the Olympics.

The contingent will feature three support and mission staff, five coaches and 15 athletes with ties to the province.

Trey Lyles of Saskatoon is competing in Basketball

In athletics, we’ve got pole vaulter Anicka Newell of Saskatoon, Michelle Harrison of Saskatoon, and Savannah Sutherland of Borden.

The Olympic Summer Games run from July 26 to Aug. 11 in Paris, France.
