The 124th annual Northwest Territorial Days Exhibition is fast approaching and is jam packed with attractions you won't want to miss.
"We really went towards a family orientated show, and there will be literally something for everybody to enjoy at the exhibition this year," said Jocelyn Ritchie of the Battlefords Agriculture Society.
The parade marks the opening of the event, starting at 7 p.m. on Aug.15 at the Civic Center.
The Chinese Acrobats of Hebei are masters of agility and grace combining Chinese traditions, incredible acrobatics, stunning costumes, Chinese props, and a beautiful music soundtrack.
The production features acrobats of all ages that are trained from childhood in pole climbing, jar juggling, contortionism, chair stacking, plate spinning, martial arts and so much more.
Also new this year is Anders magic show - a professional act complete with comedy, magic, and pick pocketing.
You'll have many opportunities to take in these two highly sought performances several times throughout the day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Ken Jen Petting Zoo is back this year with the highly anticipated and utterly amusing celebrity pig races. The racing will be held twice daily starting on the Tuesday. The petting farm features over 250 animal stars including camels, zebras, miniature donkey, llamas, yaks, potbelly pigs and much more will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:30 - 8 p.m.
Perhaps the most satisfying attraction at the exhibition is the demolition derby and it will undoubtedly pack the grandstand Friday at 6 p.m.
Saskatchewan Express, featuring talented young performers from across the province, will perform music in all styles from all eras Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Chariot races and chuckwagon races will commence on Tuesday. Get a sneak peak at the midway, chariots and chuckwagons that day for only $5.
Competitive livestock shows will feature draft horses in team driving and showmanship and harness classes. Light horse shows will include showmanship classes, barrel racing, jumping and gymkhana. A sheep shoeing demonstration and shows in different categories will be on Friday, starting at 1 p.m.
Come out and support your local youth talent on Thurs at 7:30 p.m. for the Battle of the Ford's band competition.
A large selection of competitive exhibitions featuring art & photography, wine making, baking, canning, sewing, needlework and more will be on display for judging.
Other shows include 4 Paws K9 Dog show, a horseshoe tournament, a fiddlers contest and more.
The exhibition will come to a close Aug. 19, with what has been described as a "spectacular " show of fireworks, to look forward to at dusk.
