HUMBOLDT — An annual event aimed at raising money to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes is back in person.
The Humboldt & District Walk to Cure Diabetes will start at the Humboldt Uniplex lobby on Sunday, June 5. It raises funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
"It is a great fun-filled day for the whole family and a chance to meet others impacted by this disease," said a media release from the Humboldt & Area Team T1D.
Registration for the walk begins at 10 a.m. Opening ceremonies are at 11 a.m. and the walk starts at 11:15 a.m. There will be drinks and snacks at the rest stops and a free barbeque lunch at noon sponsored by A&W for all participants.
"There are over 93,000 Saskatchewan residents impacted by diabetes and over 80 cents of every dollar raised, goes directly to research," the release said.
