PRINCE ALBERT – A trial has been set in June for a Sturgeon Lake First Nation man who was wanted by police.
Joshua Naytowhow, 29, was wanted by police in December 2021 following an armed robbery.
According to Prince Albert RCMP, they were called to Sturgeon Lake First Nation at about 9:20 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2021. The police investigation determined that Naytowhow approached a vehicle and threatened the occupants with what was described as a firearm. The occupants fled and weren’t injured. Police also say that Naytowhow and two other people attempted to steal the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
On Dec. 17, 2021, the RCMP released Naytowhow’s photo and asked the public for tips to locate him. Ten days later, the Prince Albert Police Service arrested Naytowhow in Prince Albert.
He was charged with robbery with a firearm, using an imitation firearm while committing an offence, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
The charges against Naytowhow haven’t been proven in court.
