WPD Ambulance Elves are once again spearheading a campaign to cram ambulances full of toys.
Since WPD's first Cram An Ambulance initiative in 2005, 18 ambulances have been stuffed with new toys to be distributed to less fortunate children in the Battlefords and area.
"Our goal this year is to match our toy amount from last year, cramming five ambulances," says WPD Operation Manager Jason Toovey.
"This will in turn guarantee that all the less than fortunate children in the Battlefords and area receive a gift for Christmas."
The campaign runs Monday, Nov. 28 through to Wednesday, Dec. 14. The final drive will be at the North Battleford Canadian Tire Store from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 14. At 6 p.m. ambulances will be crammed with toys and delivered to the Empty Stocking Fund in a parade of lights.
"WPD Ambulance encourages the public to join us for this special day, as we will be able to light up the faces of many children in the Battlefords and area," Toovey says.
Watch for toy collection bins throughout the community.
