TISDALE — Tisdale council passed a motion requiring all individuals in attendance for in-person town council meetings must either show proof of a negative test for COVID-19 or proof of vaccination.
The policy, passed during Sept. 27’s council meeting, applies to both public council meetings and closed committee of the whole.
It is set to be rescinded immediately upon the province lifting the Public Health Order.
If the negative test is selected by the individual rather than proof of vaccination, it must be done within the last 48 hours prior to the meeting taking place.
As a part of the policy, the town can hold its meetings electronically if requested in writing by at least four members of council a minimum of 48 hours prior to the time of the meeting. This would then prohibit anyone from attending in-person.
Details for attending an electronic meeting will be made available on the Town of Tisdale website a minimum of 24 hours prior to the start of any electronic meeting.
Brad Hvidston, Tisdale’s administrator, said as of Sept. 28, the town has no plans to bring any policy forward requiring vaccine proof or negative COVID-19 tests for employees.
