An assault charged has been laid against a member of the RCMP Spiritwood detachment.
Cst. Donovan Kajner, 33, of Spiritwood RCMP will make his first court appearance in North Battleford provincial court on Sept. 26. He was served a summons Aug. 17.
The complaint of assault was made Aug. 11, with the incident alleged to have taken place the day before during an arrest.
The complaint was investigated by the RCMP Professional Standards Unit, with the Saskatchewan Crown Prosecutors Office recommending the charge be laid under s.266 of the Criminal Code.
Kajner remains on full duties with the Spiritwood RCMP detachment.
