North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to an unusual call on the weekend - one of needles found around 16th Avenue and 103rd Street.
One fire apparatus and three personnel were called to the scene that morning to dispose of the needles. In total, 54 needles were found and disposed of.
While it is unusual for the fire department to find so many needles, it is part of the normal duties of the fire department to dispose of needles.
The fire department has consistently urged members of the public to report any needle sightings and to avoid handling any sharp objects. That way, the fire department can remove the needles properly and safely.
