Main Street Maidstone was the scene of broken glass and missing cash Tuesday morning.
Two businesses were hit as glass front doors were broken and cash drawers were taken.
Lou's and Sue's Pizza, Pasta and Steak and the Maidstone Pharmacy are just a few doors apart and both were broken into.
Staff at the pharmacy said a rock was thrown through the front door and the cash register drawer with the float for the day was taken before the alarm started to ring. Tuesday morning they had noticed nothing else missing.
The restaurant's entire cash register was lifted out of the restaurant and the cash drawer was removed from it in the alley behind a neighbouring business. Staff members said they were called down to the business at about 12:30 a.m. and it took hours to clean up the glass. They believe the repairs on the door will cost much more than the thieves took.
