The Battlefords Business Excellence Awards (BBEX) Committee has awarded a $1,000 BBEX scholarship to Kelcey Redding, business certificate student at North West Regional College.
Linda Machniak, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, noted this is the first time the scholarship has been awarded under the name of the "Stan Wychopen MemorialBattlefords Business Excellence Awards Scholarship."
The Battlefords Business ExcellenceAwards is a program of the Battlefords Chamber of Commerceto recognize excellence in business. The Chamber's partnership with North West Regional College helps to recruit and retain high calibre students into postsecondary opportunities, with the goal of improving economic and labour market conditions in the Battlefords and area. Ideally, students trained locally will develop a greater affinity for the community, and more likely to remain upon the completion of their studies where they will contribute to the local economy and social well-being of the region.
