SASKATOON — The downtown terminal of Saskatoon Transit on 23rd Street will close for one week to undergo roadway rehabilitation. The road closure will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and end on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
The City of Saskatoon says the road rehabilitation, which involves resurfacing and curb drainage, will shut down the terminal’s westbound lane. During this project, bus routes affected by the closure will temporarily relocate to the east side of 3rd Avenue between 22nd and 23rd streets.
Routes 2, 5, and 15 will be temporarily relocated from Wednesday to Friday, Aug. 21 to 23, while Routes 8 and 80 will be temporarily relocated from Wednesday to Tuesday, Aug. 21 to 27.
Temporary bus stop signage and transit staff will help locate transfers and buses, and “no parking” signs will be set up at the temporary terminal route locations. Detours will guide motorists around the work zone.
The sidewalks of the existing terminal will remain open, and the Transit Customer Service Centre will maintain regular operating hours.
Spadina Crescent between 2nd and 3rd avenues will be closed starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, for construction. Weather permitting and barring unforeseen circumstances, the work is expected to be completed in half a day. Detours will guide motorists around the work zone.
