SASKATOON — Saskatoon firefighters quickly responded and prevented a fire from spreading further in a commercial building in the 3200 block of Preston Avenue.

The Saskatoon Fire Department dispatch received the report at 1:24 a.m. Heavy smoke greeted the first-arriving fire crews, and flames inside the commercial building greeted them.

Responding firefighters advanced hose lines to attack the building's front door while another crew assisted in moving further into the building to extinguish the fire.

Crews set up fans to remove smoke from the building and adjoining business, which was unoccupied at the fire.

Fire crews declared the fire completely extinguished, and no injuries were reported. A fire investigator examined the scene to identify the cause, origin, and damage estimate.
