Rivers West announced a number of awards recipients for 2022.

ROSETOWN – Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation has announced its 2022 Award Recipients of the Rivers West District Volunteer Recognition Awards. Receiving awards for their outstanding volunteer efforts in the Rivers West District are the following:

Sport – Team of the Year:

U12 Sox Softball Team (Meadow Lake).

Sport – Coach of the Year:

Davin Hildebrand (Meadow Lake).

Culture – Development and Promotion:

“Saskatchewan Women of Influence” Book (Paradise Hill).

Culture – Artist of the Year:

Katy Messmer (Lloydminster).

Culture – Event:

Banner Project (St. Walburg).

Museum of the Year:

Imhoff Museum & Art Gallery (St. Walburg).

Recreation – Professional of the Year:

Nicole Headrick (Unity).

Recreation – Facility - Renovated or New Build:

Unity Community Centre (Unity).

District Dream Broker – Service Provider of the Year:

Dylin Curiston, Four Corner Boxing (Battlefords).

Over-All Volunteers of the Year:

Julie Hougham (Frenchman Butte), Katie Clark (Hillmond), Marli Shepherd (Kerrobert).

Rivers West District says the presentation format is still to be announced. Celebration of the recipients’ outstanding achievements will be highlighted on Rivers West social media and website throughout the coming year.

“Over the past year, our volunteers have gone above and beyond to keep sport, culture and recreation alive and thriving in our district. Thank you does not cover the immense gratitude we feel towards these individuals, organizations and communities. Congratulations on your most deserved recognition,” said Donna Johnston-Genest, executive director, Rivers West District for Sport, Culture & Recreation, in a statement.
