The City of North Battleford appears to be making progress against the proliferation of pigeons in at least one location in the city.
The building at 1132-100th St., formerly owned by the City but sold last fall to Riley and Ryan Shepherd, had been a familiar haunt for the pigeon population.
The new owners have pledged renovations so the building could be made available as office space, and at least one city councillor is noticing some early progress at the location.
At the City's muncipal services committee meeting Monday, Councillor Ron Crush made an observation about the renovation activity and said, "I was so pleased to see not a pigeon, but a person."
That comment brought a few smiles among those at the meeting.
