The RCMP is seeking the public's assistance with the apprehension of Terrance Bear.
Bear is unlawfully at large from the Willow Cree Healing Lodge, Duck Lake.
At approximately, midnight September 16, 2011, staff at the Willow Cree Healing Lodge discovered Bear was missing from the facility. A formal count and institutional search were completed. As the inmate could not be located, it was determined Bear had escaped. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued.
Bear is a 26-year-old first time offender serving a sentence of 13 years, one month and 14 days for two counts of manslaughter, possession of illeagal substances for the purpose of trafficking and mischief in relation to other property. His sentence commenced Nov. 30. 2005.
Bear is 5' 7" tall and weighs 206 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact their local police department.
The Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the escape and work with the police to locate the offender as soon as possible.
Willow Cree Healing Lodge is a federally operated minimum security institution currently accommodating 39 inmates.
